“Know Your Stuff” Safety and Boating Operation Instruction

Boating is a lot of fun, but it’s also serious – you want your family and friends to know that you know what you’re doing when they join you on a vessel.

Captain Russ has decades of personal and professional time on the water and during those years he’s seen his share of mishaps, most of them preventable. With a little instruction and actual practice, he can help you avoid a good many those mishaps, both large and small.

Instruction is one-on-one on your boat or ours, so you get personalized boating lessons while learning the best way possible: hands-on, on the water.  While written instructions can be valuable, nothing gives you the confidence and know-how like being at the helm of the boat.

What will I learn?

  • Etiquette
  • Rules of navigation
  • Emergency procedures
  • Safety
  • Boat operation
  • Basic boat equipment and maintenance for safety

Can we use my boat?

Yes. You also have the option to use our 24-foot Carolina Skiff, an excellent craft for learning operational skills.

How much does it cost?

Private instruction is $200 per hour using our vessel or $100 per hour using your vessel. A one-hour minimum is required.
